This variant combines features of the Anteprojecto preliminar VIII-203 (four 203-mm gun mounts) and Anteprojecto preliminar XII-152 (four triple-gun mounts). If such a ship had been built for the Italian fleet, it would have been handed over to the Soviet Union as war reparations after World War II.
