Overview
In the summer of 1939, twelve new type destroyers—1936B—were ordered. The ships were armed with four 128 mm guns and were to become part of the German fleet modernization program. However, with the start of World War II, ten ships of this type were canceled, and then seven of them were re-laid as Type 1936A (Mob) destroyers. In 1941, a ship was laid down according to the original 1936B project, with the number of main battery guns increased to five during construction. Z-35, the lead ship of the series, was built at the Deschimag shipyard. In February 1944, the ship was transferred to Tallinn, where it participated in mine-laying and raid operations. In December 1944, during another mine-laying operation in the Gulf of Finland, Z-35 hit mines and sank.
