Overview
A destroyer built in Great Britain for Poland, it became one of the most famous ships of World War II. In the spring of 1947, it was transferred to the new Polish government. During 1951-52, the ship was modernized: the main battery and anti-aircraft guns were replaced with Soviet-made weapons. Błyskawica spent the 1960s in foreign visits and exercises.
