Overview
Originally ordered as part of the Type 1938B, this ship was re-ordered as a Type 1936A (Mob) destroyer. Z-33 was built at the Deschimag shipyard in Bremen. After crew training, the ship was sent to Norway, where in September 1943 it participated in the raid on Spitsbergen. As part of the battleship Scharnhorst's escort, the destroyer participated in attacks on Allied Arctic convoys, and from October 1944, it itself covered convoys during the evacuation of Germans from northern Norway. In January 1946, the ship was transferred to the Soviet Union as reparations and received the name Provorny.
