Overview
USS Missouri, the third Iowa-class battleship, was laid down in 1941 and launched three years later. During World War II, she served in the Pacific theater of operations. On September 2, 1945, the Japanese surrender document was signed aboard her. In 1950–53, she participated in the Korean War. In 1984, the battleship was modernized with guided missile weapons. In 1991, she took part in Operation Desert Storm. During her service, Missouri earned 11 battle stars. She is now a museum ship in Pearl Harbor.
