Overview
From 1943 to 1946, specialists from TsKB-17 and TsNIIVK Navy worked on Project 65, within which 40 draft projects were prepared. The largest of them was a cruiser with a displacement of 15,000 tons, armed with three triple mounts with 180 mm guns and eight twin SM-5-1 100 mm mounts. Ultimately, preference was given to the construction of new ships of Projects 68K and 68-bis.
