Overview
The destroyer leader 'Tashkent' was designed and built at the Odero Terni Orlando shipyard in Italy. Soviet armament was planned for installation—three twin B-2L turrets with 130 mm guns model 1936. However, during the development process, the B-2L and B-2M projects were merged into one—B-2LM, which delayed testing. When enlisted in the fleet in October 1939, the ship was temporarily armed with three single B-13 130 mm gun mounts, with which it met the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. Its standard armament, three B-2LM mounts, 'Tashkent' received by July 1941.
