Overview
Lead ship of the Fuyutsuki sub-class of the Akizuki-class anti-aircraft destroyers. These ships were simplified compared to previous members of the class to speed up construction due to the need for greater anti-aircraft firepower in the Imperial Japanese Navy. Fuyutsuki escorted battleship Yamato on her final operation. After taking serious damage from a sea mine, she was converted into a breakwater.
