Overview
One of two ships built for the Colombian National Navy as modified versions of the Halland class and configured as general-purpose warships. The forward anti-aircraft 57 mm twin-gun turret was replaced with an additional Bofors 120 mm twin mount, bringing the total number of these guns to six compared to the Swedish half-sisters' four. The 20 de Julio-class destroyers also carried four single Bofors 40 mm cannons, one quadruple-tube torpedo launcher, and one quadruple-tube Bofors 375 mm anti-submarine rocket launcher. 20 de Julio was decommissioned from the Colombian National Navy in 1984.
