Overview
When developing 10,000-ton ships to replace old battleships, German engineers considered several armament options. The 'lightest' considered was project I/10 with eight 210 mm guns in four turrets. At the same time, the first modern German light cruisers received armament of 150 mm guns in triple turrets. The size and arrangement of project I/10 вполне allowed for the placement of four such turrets, replacing the 210 mm mounts.
