Overview
It is a repeat of the In its design, the battleship USS Colorado resembled the Tennessee-class ships but was armed with twin 406 mm gun turrets instead of triple 356 mm mounts. USS Colorado was built in Brooklyn and joined the Battle Fleet on the U.S. West Coast. In the 1920–30s, the battleship participated in exercises and diplomatic missions. On the day of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, the ship was undergoing major repairs in Bremerton and was not damaged. During World War II, Colorado took part in various operations in the Pacific: the battles for Tarawa, Kwajalein, and Eniwetok, as well as the landings in the Philippines and Okinawa. After the war ended, the ship transported troops back to the United States. In total, the battleship received seven battle stars. -class design, but with twin 406 mm/45 gun mounts. After entering service, USS Colorado joined the Battle Fleet. The ship participated in the support of the Tarawa landing, provided firepower at Kwajalein and Eniwetok.
