Overview
In 1940, Germany gained access to a large number of unfinished French ships in the occupied territory. Among them were four Le Hardi-class destroyers. Two of them had been launched, and two more were in the initial stage of construction. The German command planned to complete such ships for its own needs, installing German armament, and the changes made could have been very significant. However, by the end of the war, the Germans had not even managed to launch the destroyers.
