Overview
The Type 1936C repeated the hull of the Type 1936A destroyer but used more powerful turbines from scout cruisers. The main armament was also changed: it now consisted of six 128 mm universal guns in three turret mounts. A total of six ships of this type were ordered, but none were launched. Z-46 was laid down in 1943 at the Deschimag shipyard, but due to a lack of materials and Allied air raids, construction proceeded extremely slowly. In 1945, both hulls were blown up on the slipways.
