Overview
Before the start of World War I, amid international tensions, a program of accelerated shipbuilding was adopted. It was planned to build 36 destroyers for the Baltic Sea. The third of five series consisted of the largest and most heavily armed destroyers of the 'Izyaslav' type. The lead ship of this type was built in Revel. The destroyer participated in the Battle of Moon Sound and the Ice Cruise of the Baltic Fleet. In 1922, it received a new name—'Karl Marx.'
