Overview
The Battle class was the result of lessons learned from destroyers in the early years of World War II: the focus shifted to air defense and anti-submarine warfare. HMS Jutland, originally named Malplaquet, was built between 1945 and 1947. The ship served in the 4th Destroyer Flotilla, in the 4th and 7th Destroyer Divisions. In 1953, Jutland participated in the fleet review for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.
